I have worked in the therapeutic field for over 25 years as a practitioner, lecturer and as a trainer. As a psychologist I specialized in complex trauma, providing training and expert consultancy on the subject for many different organisations, here as well as in Asia and Africa. As a hypnotherapist I was the course director of a large training institute, which trains clinical hypnotherapist to Masters Degree level. I also lecture at Exeter University in the UK.
I have always been a spiritual person and a spiritual seeker. My spiritual journey started in Asia, where I developed an interest in Buddhist teaching and practices. Later it led me to explore shamanism in South- and North America. I apprenticed to indigenous shamans in Ecuador and attended many training courses and workshops with teachers such as Sandra Ingerman, John Perkins, Annie Spencer, Victor Sanchez and more.
Later I began to combine the contemporary therapeutic with ancient teachings, practices and approaches, which led me to shift my focus. I wrote the book ‘shamanism and spirituality in therapeutic practice’, as well as various articles on the subject. I now mainly facilitate CPD training courses on the subject for therapeutic and coaching professionals, work as a shamanic teacher, facilitating workshops, speak at conferences and write.
Currently I am exploring the feminine, which is the subject of my next book.
